CHECK OUT COACH ERIC WISE & PAP IN THE READING EAGLE NEWSPAPER!

'TAKING ACTION ON INACTIVITY'
BY COURTNEY H. DIENER-STOKES

There are two reasons why Eric Wise, owner of Premier Athlete Performance, is passionate on the subject of childhood obesity, and one of them is personal.

"We first noticed it in the general public, and then when we started the business and the kids came in, we saw a great disparity among kids of all ages" regarding their physical fitness levels, said Wise, 33.

But what really hits home for Wise is his experience raising three children with his wife, Katrina.

"As our own children grew, we found at playgrounds there is nobody there," he said, noting that budget cuts leading to a lack of playground leaders have contributed to the issue, as have limited recess times. "The more we got exposed to that is when it really started clicking in our heads."

Both reasons got Wise, a former pro and collegiate All-American football player, wondering about the root causes of the obesity problem from a physical fitness perspective and what he could do about it on a local level....

Exercise options for college students home for the summer:
By Courtney H. Diener-Stokes
Reading Eagle Correspondent

There are many options for college students who are back in Berks County for the summer to keep up their fitness routines, whether they're varsity athletes or just looking to stay in shape.

Fitness centers welcome college students. One customizes fitness programs for the athlete who is looking to gear up for his or her return to school on the field, court or track, and others offer good deals with full club access.

Premier Athlete Performance (PAP), Wyomissing, offers a 10-week summer program for college students starting in June. Most students, ages 17-22, are playing a sport for an NCAA Division I, II or III school. Males and females can participate, and many sports are represented.
